OK, maybe not quite spring…

Don't have to worry about bees!

Apparently my proclamation of spring in the Rockies was a bit premature. I took this photo yesterday, of our recently hung humming bird feeder. Fortunately for the little hummers they haven’t made it to these parts yet. By the end of the day we had a foot of snow, with more due overnight.

Bluebird pic

Here is a Bluebird in our back yard, house shopping. Can anyone definitively ID the species?

Spring arriving in the Rockies

Now that (most) of the snow is melted, and our bird baths have liquid water in the (late) morning it seems that spring is finally here. A couple of weeks ago we saw our first Robins of the year, followed shortly by the Bluebirds. It is heart warming to see the Robins scamper four feet across the ground, stop, and scamper again. The Bluebirds were house hunting. They go from house to house looking inside and chirping back and forth before moving on to the next. Plenty to look at, we have about 15 bird houses up around the house. I think that they are Eastern Bluebirds but I am not 100% sure. I should post a pic of them to get a definitive answer.

Yep, this is a new blog
